My Story

After giving birth to my first child, I was discharged from the hospital exclusively spoon feeding my sleepy baby. She was never able to successfully latch in the hospital. Our first night home, she began to cluster feed and although I was so excited I was able to get her to latch, it was too shallow. I developed cracks, sores, and breastfeeding was not the “magical experience” I anticipated it being. Soon those cracks turned into mastitis and then an abscess. Finally, after many weeks, my daughter was diagnosed with a tongue tie that was leading to her shallow latch, causing the cracks, sores and discomfort.  But the difficulties felt never ending, and that was all within the first MONTH.

These struggles as well as MANY other struggles along the way, felt overwhelming as a new mom with no one to turn to. So this led to my journey as an IBCLC. I don’t want any parent to feel alone. My goal is ideally to get parents off to a good start to prevent any issue from happening- but if and when they do arise, I am here to help you through it.
